HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 10

Requesting the West Virginia Parkways, Economic Development and Tourism Authority to develop facilities at all designated
rest areas along the West Virginia Turnpike (I-77).
Whereas, The West Virginia Turnpike is a modern highway and
part of Interstate 77 which is a major north-south transportation
route; and
Whereas, Thousands of motorists travel the West Virginia
Turnpike daily in automobiles and trucks; and
Whereas, Some of the rest areas along the West Virginia
Turnpike have the most modern facilities available anywhere in
the United States; and
Whereas, All designated rest areas should have certain basic
facilities to meet the needs of motorists; and
Whereas, The rest area on the south side of the West Virginia
Turnpike at Bluestone Gorge has no facilities; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That facilities be developed for the rest area on the south
side of the West Virginia Turnpike at Bluestone Gorge for the use and comfort of motorists who stop there; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House is hereby
directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Governor and to
members of the West Virginia Parkways, Economic Development and
Tourism Authority.
